Corrosion Coupon Probe Model EMT-EP100
The Model EMT-EP100 Corrosion Coupon Probe is a highly specialized and resilient instrument designed for monitoring and assessing corrosion within high-pressure pipeline systems. This fixed-length, retrievable probe is ideally suited for harsh environments, thanks to its robust and fully welded structure. It is a critical tool for ensuring the longevity and safety of industrial pipelines by providing accurate corrosion data.
Construction and Design
The EMT-EP100 features an extension rod that houses the sensitive measuring element, and a threaded connecting seat to facilitate its integration into pipeline systems. The probe’s durability is enhanced by the seamless welding of all its components, ensuring a leak-proof and highly secure structure. Each interface of the probe is meticulously sealed with high-temperature glass sintering, providing an additional layer of security and stability under extreme conditions.
The probe’s sensor is further protected by a removable cap, which guards against physical damage and exposure to harsh substances. This cap can be easily removed or attached depending on operational requirements. The assembly is completed by attaching the probe to a hollow plug via a probe nut and sealing ring. This design allows for the probe and plug assembly to be installed or retrieved from the system using dedicated tools and a service valve without necessitating a process shutdown.
Materials and Specifications
The body of the EMT-EP100 probe can be constructed from several materials depending on the specific requirements of the environment in which it will be used:
- 316 Stainless Steel (SS)
- 316L Low-Carbon Stainless Steel (SS)
- Duplex Stainless Steel (DSS)
- INCONEL
These materials are chosen for their exceptional resistance to corrosion and their ability to withstand high pressures and temperatures. The probe is rated for use in temperatures ranging from -200℃ to 450℃ and can handle pressures up to 45 MPa.
Installation and Maintenance
Installation of the EMT-EP100 is straightforward, thanks to its design that accommodates easy mounting to an access system with a hollow plug. The probe’s design ensures that it can be quickly integrated into or removed from the pipeline system without interrupting the ongoing process. This feature is particularly valuable in industries where system uptime is critical.
Sealing and Leakage Prevention
To prevent media leakage—a common concern in high-pressure environments—the EMT-EP100 integrates several advanced sealing techniques. The measuring element and the probe body are fused together through integrated welding, eliminating any gaps that could lead to leaks. The probe rod is filled with a material that is resistant to both heat and pressure, ensuring the integrity of the probe even under extreme conditions. The glass sealing at the interfaces further reinforces this protection, providing a reliable barrier against environmental challenges.
